Biographical Sketch:
Son of William and Maria (Allen) Wells. He moved to Michigan around 1875. His dairy business included from 70 to 100 cows. His farm was in Greenfield, MI He was a member of Fairbanks Post, G. A. R. He served in the 17th N Y, and was mustered out at expiration of term of enlistment. He re-enlisted in the 77th NY cavalry, was clerk at headquarters department of the gulf, stationed at Memphis, TN, when the war ended. He was an insurance agent in Chicago in 1910.
