Biographical Sketch:
He was a high school business teacher for 30 years. He served as Bay City Commissioner from 2001-07, serving as President for part of that time. He became Mayor of Bay City in 2007-2010. He was a founding member of the Mayors Automotive Coalition, a national organization seeking to redevelop closed or closing automotive facilities. He started the General Motors Powertrain Support Group, and his efforts have helped keep Bay City’s Powertrain plant active and employing local residents. He started the annual citywide Clean-up Program, Adopt-a-Park Program and Mayor’s Housing Initiative. He is a member of the Bay County Historical Society, board member of Friends of Bay City State Park and a founding member of Bay Future.
