Biographical Sketch:
Came to the US in 1883 with his young wife when he was 19, he secured a position as English teacher in a military school on Long Island. After a few years he entered the newspaper field and worked on New York and Brooklyn papers, specializing in politics. In 1906 he moved to Detroit and became a member of the staff of the Detroit News. Later he entered politics, being elected secretary of the Detroit school board, followed by his election as member-at-large of the board of estimates. Also engaged in the insurance business.
