Biographical Sketch:
Second child of Asaahel and Mary W. (Van Amburg) Chase. He moved to Saginaw, MI in 1868. He served as Saginaw City Clerk and at the same time acted as a reporter for the Saginaw Enterprise and Courier. In 1873, he moved to Evart where he published the Evart Review from 1873-1881. Served as postmaster for 4 yrs; after 1899, he was involved in real estate and insurance businesses. He served as a justice of the peace; Osceola Township supervisor, the village assessor, clerk, trustee and president. He was assistant postmaster 4 years and judge of probate 8 years [1908-16].
