Biographical Sketch:
He was of "English parentage." Son of Henry and Phoena (Parmlee) James. His father was an early settler of Saginaw County. Delbert moved from Maple Grove to Saginaw in 1890. He founded James & Kilpatrick law firm; Delbert C. James Fire Insurance Company. Member of the Detroit & Michigan Bar Assoc's; Palestine Lodge, Fellowcraft Club, Mayor's Street Railway Investigation Committee; and Detroit Chamber of Commerce. He was a claims adjuster for Loyalty Insurance Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1945. He served as justice in Bloomfield Hills from 1938-49. Member of the Masons; Delta Theta Phi; and Blue Goose Insurance Fraternity.

Notable Facts:
Defeated in 1922 Republican primary. Died of heart disease.
