He came to Detroit in 1837. He soon afterwards moved to Rawsonville, and became a merchant. He held the local offices of postmaster and justice of the peace for many years during his residence at Rawsonville. He was a Whig, and subsequently a Republican in politics. His
later years were passed at Ypsilanti, as a retired capitalist.
