Biographical Sketch:
Of German descent. Son of Ferdinand and Caroline E. (Bast) Petermann. Although he grew up in Calumet, he went to high school in Buffalo, NY where his father worked for a time. He studied law in the law office of A. W. Kerr at Calumet, was admitted to the bar in 1901 and worked at the firm until 1911. Served as Keweenaw County prosecuting attorney 1903-1910. In 1917 was a member of the law firm of Rees, Robinson and Petermann. He was president of the C & H Mining Co. at the time of his death. Member of the Masons, the Elks and the Odd Fellows.
