Biographical Sketch:
Son of Israel and Polly Mary (Durfee) Perry. He left home at 19 and became a scholar and teacher until 1833. He then became a preacher and entered to Genesee [NY] Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He preached for 11 years due to poor health and became a farmer in 1843 in Franklin, Lenawee Co., MI. He served as supervisor of the town and chairman of the board of supervisors.

Notable Facts:
Served in both chambers. Introduced homeopathy to Michigan. Died of blood poisoning.
