Biographical Sketch:
Emigrated from France in 1828; briefly settled in upstate New York, working on a farm. He became a resident of Detroit in 1832, traveling by way of the Erie Canal. He served as city assessor, tax collector and member of the Board of Education. Helped to organize a volunteer company of the Detroit Fire Department.

Notable Facts:
Birth year in MIBiog is 1807; headstone gives 1808 as birth year. Both Reno Avenue in Detroit and Renaud Road in Grosse Pointe Woods, were named for him.
