Biographical Sketch:
Son of Nathan and Melinda (Landon) Alvord. Following his graduation, he located on a farm in Camden but, in the fall of 1897, he returned to the Agricultural College to accept an appointment as assistant agriculturist and foreman of the college farm. In 1899, he moved to College Station, TX, where he was made assistant professor of Agriculture in the Texas Agricultural College. He resigned from this position in 1902 and returned to the farm in Camden which, in the meantime, he had purchased. State lecturer & director of the Hillsdale County Agricultural Soc.
