Biographical Sketch:
Son of Ezekial and Lucinda (Fletcher) Ransom. He began practicing medicine in Glens Falls, NY before moving to Kalamazoo, MI around 1837, purchasing land in Alamo Township. He served as justice of the peace several terms. His last residence was in the city of Kalamazoo.

Notable Facts:
1800 is actual year of birth in Vermont. MIBiog and NAmerFamHost give death as June 3 but MIDeaths...says June 17, 1867. He was elected to the legislature as a Whig but was later a Democrat. Brother of Governor Ransom.
