Of Scottish descent. Son of Homer & Harriet (Hatch) Pringle. Admitted to the NY bar in 1849. Moved to Jackson, MI, 1850. 1852 became Circuit Court Commissioner for Jackson Co.; served as Jackson village Recorder, 3 yrs; elected prosecuting attorney 1856 & 1858 and 1886; city attorney 1858-59; US register of bankruptcy 1867-78; member of the Jackson board of public works, 1871-76; 1862-64 Military Secretary to Gov. Blair; state commissioner of insurance, 1883-85; elected mayor of Jackson, 1885 . Involved in railroad development in Michigan.
Notable Facts:
Served in both chambers. Represented Jackson Co. at the 1867 state Constitutional Convention. Member of the 1st Republican Convention in Jackson in 1854.
Died of apoplexy.
