Biographical Sketch:
Of Scotch and French descent. Son of David and Lucy S. (LaRue) Pitkin. He entered the drug store of his brother, Geo L Pitkin, of Brighton, MI, as a student in pharmacy in 1883. He passed the Michigan Board of Pharmacy examination in 1887, locating soon after at Whitehall. He established the firm of C. G. Pitkin & Co., continuing the business until 1920. He was secretary and general manager of the White River Power & Light Co.; has served as trustee of the village of Whitehall; township treasurer and worshipful master of Whitehall Lodge, No. 310, of the Masons.
