Biographical Sketch:
Son of Sargent Heath. He came to St. Clair Co., MI with his father in 1833. Edited the St. Clair Republican with L.M. Mason in 1835-36, while practicing medicine. He moved to Port Huron in 1836. He was justice of the peace in 1839 and post master of Port Huron in 1840. The first district school in Port Huron was under the his instruction during the winter of 1841-42. He was sheriff of Saint Clair County, 1843 but at the end of his term, he engaged in lumbering in Point Au Barques, Huron Co. with Peter F. Brakeman. He returned to Port Huron in March 1849 via boat and was drowned.
