Biographical Sketch:
Son of Frederick and Johanna (Maas) Dust. He arrived in Michigan around 1857. He was lithographic printer for 21 years and, for over 20 years, manufacturer and jobber of stove castings. He served as alderman, member of the Common Council, city clerk, member of the board of estimates of Detroit, member of the board of state tax commissioners, commissioner of parks and boulevards [8 years]. Member of the Zion Lodge of Detroit.

Notable Facts:
Helped frame the Detroit charter while on the Common Council. Death certificate says he died in Birmingham, Oakland Co., MI; Find-a-Grave says Wayne Co.
