Biographical Sketch:
Son of Ebenezer A. and Keturah (Randall) Packer. He taught school for several years before moving to western New York where he 'engaged in getting staves' and ship timbers; followed by 5 years selling books in southern states. In 1835, he settled in Litchfield Township, MI as a farmer. In 1864, he sold his farm and moved to Jonesville. He served 4 years as probate judge, and was a highway commissioner, justice of the peace and supervisor. Member of the Odd Fellows.

Notable Facts:
He was a Democrat until 1856 when he became a Republican but switched back in 1872.
