Biographical Sketch:
Son of Amasa and Lucinda (Ford) Packard. When he married, at 22, he moved to Sand Lake, NY. He moved to Chatham, OH to farm from 1836-59. He moved to Allegan County, MI in 1859 then to Covert, Van Buren County, MI in 1870. He held local offices while living in Ohio. He owned thousands of acres of timber and operated 4 sawmills.
