Biographical Sketch:
Son of Mattson and Deborah (Wetheral) Otis. He was member of the Michigan State Constitutional Convention in 1835. For 4 years, he was undersheriff at Detroit and for many years held the office of Supervisor and was Justice of the Peace in his township. He extensive land holdings near Detroit, and Grand Rapids, and in Lapeer County at the time of his death. He served as county auditor of Wayne County, MI in 1845; and supervisor of Greenfield, 1847-52 and 1854.
