Biographical Sketch:
He was educated for a priest but became a merchant on Mackinac. He was subpoened on behalf of the Indian tribes about Mackinac during the investigation of charges against Schoolcraft in 1840. At that time he had a general store and was described as "an honest, industrious man." He emigrated to the US in 1834 and settled in Michigan in 1835. He held several Mackinac County offices including clerk of Mackinac Co. in 1864. As justice of the peace, he pursued 'King' Strang.
