Biographical Sketch:
Son of Morris and Briget O'Flynn. When he emigratedin 1828, he first settled in New York and studied law and was admitted to the bar. In 1836, he moved to Grand Rapids, MI before settling in Detroit. He was Probate Judge (1844-52), Postmaster of Detroit (1857), City Attorney (1840-1843) and member of the Common Council. He was one of the founders of the common school system. Member of the Detroit bar which he entered in 1834. He and Dr. Alvord published the Detroit Herald from 1859-61.
