Biographical Sketch:
The son of Alonzo McCain and Sophronia Waite, he was of Scotch and Irish descent. His family came to Michigan in 1833. From 1887 to 1899 he was engaged in farming, then took up the business of real estate in 1899. He was Supervisor of Summit Township in 1898. In 1904 he was appointed secretary of the Jackson Business Men's Association. His obituary mentions he was active in Michigan's good roads program of an earlier day.
