Biographical Sketch:
Son of Alonzo and Sophronia (Waite) McCain, he was of Scotch and Irish descent. His family came to Michigan in 1833. From 1887-99, he was engaged in farming, then moved to Jackson and took up the business of real estate in 1899. He was Supervisor of Summit Township in 1898. In 1904, he was appointed secretary of the Jackson Business Men's Association. His obituary mentions he was active in Michigan's good roads program of an earlier day.
