Of Scotch-Irish descent. Son of Alexander and Hannah (Quinlan) McCall. He farmed for over 30 years but had interests in a grain and elevator business. He was president of the Memphis State Bank [formed in 1906]. He served as treasurer 2 years, supervisor of Riley Township for 7 years, and was chairman of the board of supervisors 2 years.
