Biographical Sketch:
Of English and Irish descent. Son of Dighton Russell Marvin. In the fall of 1872, he moved with his parents to the state of Virginia, where he resided until the spring of 1873, when he came to Lansing, MI. In 1874, he left Lansing and settled on land in Sherman Township, Osceola County. He was supervisor for 8 years, and was chairman of the board of supervisors. He was elected register of deeds at the general election in 1900 and held that office for 2 terms.
