Biographical Sketch:
Of Irish descent. Son of Robert & Margaret (Sharon) Hall. Came to Michigan in 1882. After completing school, he worked as a telegrapher for the Grand Trunk Railroad in Ailsa Croix for about 1 year. He worked at various jobs for a time in Saginaw before going back to school. Taught school 11 years; taught in Mt. Pleasant, 1884; then in Osceola and Missaukee counties; 1888, became principal in Jennings, MI until 1895. He was elected school commissioner of Missaukee county in 1895. Lived in Lake City until May, 1902 when he moved to a farm near that city. Member of the Masons; Modern Woodmen of America.
