Biographical Sketch:
Of English descent. Son of John and Sarah L. (Dickinson) Leighton. Resided in the Saginaw valley when young and moved to Grand Marais, Alger County in 1894. Served on the Board of Education for several years and for 11 years as a member of the board of supervisors and at one time as its chairman. He was a member of the County Road Commission.
