Biographical Sketch:
Of English descent. Son of John W. and Eliza Jackson. At age 14, he worked in a general store. In 1880, he worked in (ran?) a Chesaning bakery. Moved to Michigan May 1880 (age 21). 1887-1914 ran a Chesaning general merchandise business which was taken over by his son when John retired. Served as Chesaning Township Supervisor (elected) 1915 and 1916 and Treasurer Chesaning Milling Co. and Chesaning Home Telephone Co.
