Biographical Sketch:
Son of Simon and Emma [or Erma] C. (Calkins) Peterson. He entered college when he was 17. After taking a civil service exam, he was appointed to a position in the US Pension Bureau in Washington, DC. He worked there 5 years then worked for 8 years in field service. He farmed from 1914. Served as township supervisor in 1915 and 1916. He was admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia and in Michigan.
