Biographical Sketch:
Of Irish ancestry. Son of Robert and Rachel (Pedlow) Allen. After teaching in the district schools of Tuscola Co., he taught at the Michigan School for the Deaf for 16 years (until 1/1/1901). He was elected county clerk of Genesee County in November, 1900, serving two terms. In the meantime, he studied law and was admitted to the bar 10/16/1903. When his term as county clerk expired, he formed the Martin and Allen law practice. He was manager of the King Cigar Co. at the time of his death.
