Born in Venice, Italy while parents, Victor E. and Rose M. Darin, were abroad. He served 1 term as municipal judge for the city of River Rouge; was appointed legal adviser to the sheriff of Wayne County in 1926, and practiced law in Detroit. During the World War I, he served as a gunners mate aboard a U.S. destroyer, and an lieutenant in the U.S. navel reserve forces. Member of the Masons; the Order of Eastern Star; White Shrine of Jerusalem; Knights of Pythias; the Odd Fellows [I.O.O.F.]; the American Legion; V.F.W.; and the Delta Theta Phi law fraternity.
