Of French ancestry. Born in Montreal, Canada, Deshano moved with his family to Arenac County, Michigan when he was a child and four years later, he moved Beaver Twp, Bay county, MI. Deshano held office as township treasurer (4 years) and Supervisor. Early employment included lumbering, river driving and mill work. After marrying he farmed.
