Biographical Sketch:
He paid his way through school, selling papers and doing odd jobs and then worked on a farm for a year, following his graduation from high school. He entered newspaper work, freelancing in Muskegon, Grand Rapids, Detroit and Saginaw, as a reporter and correspondent. He also handlied promotion and publicity. In 1909, he moved to Saginaw and worked for the Saginaw News. From1926-60, he was editor of the Chesaning Argus. He was assistant secretary of the Saginaw Board of Commerce for 4 years and served 8 years as member of the county board of supervisors. He was president of Michigan Press Association in 1938; founder and secretary of the Chesaning Showboat production committee; member of Rotary, Masons, Kiwanis, Elks, Metropolitan, Auto, Lincion and Caravan clubs.
