Of Irish descent. He was employed as an accountant with the Wayne County Road Commission in 1935 until about 1947. member of Knights of Equity. After serving 18 years in the legislature he returned to the County Road Commission as a real estate appraiser, 1966-75. Member of Holy Redeemer Church and Knights of Equity; Gaelic League; Irish American Club; Old Corktown Club; Fifteenth Congressional District Club.
