Educated in the public schools at Nashville and Hastings.
Biographical Sketch:
He learned the printing trade at Hastings and Nashville, and was editor and publisher of the Nashville News from October 1888, until November, 1928. He served his village as president for three terms, and as postmaster fifteen years. Member of the Masonic fraternity, the Consistory, the Shrine, the Knights of Pythias, Elks and Oddfellows. Was twice elected president of the Michigan press association, and was field manager of that organization and vice-president of the national association of state press field managers.

Elected to the legislature November 6, 1928, without opposition, and re-elected in 1930 without opposition.
