She served as a real estate title examiner with Southern Metropolitan Title Company, the American Title Company, and as an independent title examiner with Investor Title Insurance Company. She also worked as a public relations assistant at the Christian Family Centre in Adrian and as a research assistant at Michigan Family Forum in Lansing. She worked as the district representative for State Sen. Cameron Brown for 7 years. Jenkins lived in Dover Township and was actively involved in the Lenawee County community, serving on the Republican Executive Committee, Citizen Advisory Committee on the Law Enforcement Center and chair of the Vote Yes on Law Enforcement Center Campaign. She was a board member at Daily Bread and Jobs Express. She was a member of the Lenawee County Airport Zoning Board of Appeals, Lenawee County Republican Executive Committee, and Adrian Morning rotary.
