Son of Jonathan Hoyt. Grad. from Geneva Medical College in Geneva, NY, 1/1839; settled in Commerce, MI 5/1839; moved to Walled Lake 2 yrs later. A pioneer of Oakland Co.; held many local offices. Lost a contested election to the MI Senate, 1864. One of the organizers of the State Medical Society. Was blind late in life.
