Biographical Sketch:
He moved to Monroe, MI in 1823. He was many years the stage coach king of the lake country, and did more to improve the breed of horses than any other man in the Northwest. He was for years engaged with Daniel S. Bacon in mercantile pursuits; was one of the commissioners to locate the Michigan Central Railroad; was register of the government Land Office at Monroe, and US Marshal for Michigan. He was a large contractor on the Great Western and Grand Trunk railroads in Canada. Mayor of Monroe in 1844. At the time of his death, he was proprietor of a hotel in Wayne County, Mi.
