He moved with parents, Sawyer and Susan W. (Hazen) Ball, to Dowagiac, MI at age of 2, then to Niles, MI at age of 4, then to Coloma, MI at age of 6. In 1896, he formed a bank in Coloma with his father, known as Ball & Son. Served Watervliet Twp. as Clerk and Supervisor [1893-95]
