Biographical Sketch:
Son of Joost [Joseph] Pieters and Maatje [Martha] (Moerdijk) DeBoer. He was employed for 3 years in a grocery store and later worked as a machinist for nearly 20 years. He was superintendent of the Michigan free employment bureau at Grand Rapids for a little over 2 years and operated a licensed employment bureau. In 1914 he entered the real estate business. He was elected alderman of the 4th ward of Grand Rapids in 1906 and served for 10 years.
