Biographical Sketch:
Son of Elweyn [or Edwin] B. and Maggie (Laurence) Main. Principal of the high schools at Hudson, MI, 1908 and 1909 & at Niles, MI, 1909-12; admitted to the bar, 1914 then practiced law in Battle Creek.
Volunteered for military service with the Field Artillery & was in training at the officers’ training camp at Louisville, KY, when the armistice was signed. Asst. prosecuting attorney of Calhoun Co., 1926; member of the Battle Creek School Board, 1929-1932.
He was identified with the organizers of the Battle Creek Kiwanis Club, and served as its president for 2 years. Served as president of the Battle Creek Chamber of Commerce and the Battle Creek Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Elected to the 74th Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Henry M. Kimball serving from 12/17/1935-1/3/1937.
Elected to the legislature November 2, 1926, by a vote of 4,733 to 1,262 for O. O. Wilson.
