Of German parentage. Son of John and Mary (Katarf or Cuslorf) Rauchholz. He emigrated from Germany in 1869 He has been supervisor of the township of Richland, Saginaw county, for 29 years and served as chairman of the board of supervisors for 8 years; he has also served as highway commissioner. He is a member of the Masons, IOOF [Odd Fellows], BPOE [Elks] and Gleaners.
