Biographical Sketch:
His family moved to Waterville, Oneida County, NY in 1825. He moved to Davenport, IA in 1856 and then to Decatur, MI in December 1858. He served as village president several times and as township supervisor6 successive terms. He was elected register of deeds for Van Buren County in 1866. He was elected cashier of the First National Bank when it was organized and later became the President of the First National Bank of Decatur.
