Biographical Sketch:
Born in New York, he settled in Vassar, Michigan in 1861. He was principal of the Vassar Union School until 1868. He held many local positions, including Supervisor, Circuit Court Commissioner and County Superintendent of Schools. He removed to Portsmouth, now part of Bay City, and was two years principal of schools there, later a merchant. he was Alderman, member of Board of Education, and in 1874, was Senator, vice H.H. wheeler, resigned. He died in Florida in 1887.
