Biographical Sketch:
Of German descent. Son of William F. and Catherine (Mattern or Martin) Miller. From 1881-91 he was a bookkeeper for L. Hennes & Co. in Calumet, MI. He was secretary of the Republican county committee for 15 years and was chairman for 1 year. He served as village president, county treasurer and secretary of the school board 21 years. He was chief accountant for the Penisula Electric Light Co. until October 1902, when he became secretary-treasurer for the Haas Brewing Co. and auditor and land agent for Houghton County. Mr. Miller was secretary-treasurer of the Arcadian Consolidated Mining Co. Member of Knights of Pythias; Elks; and Odd Fellows.
