Biographical Sketch:
Son of Abner and Melinda Bassett Livermore. Apprenticed to a tailor at the age of fifteen. Married at 20. In 1836 began studying law. Settled in Jackson, MI, 1839. Acted as deputy US Marshal, 1840; justice of the peace, 1841; Prosecuting Attorney for Jackson Co. for several yrs. From 1846 to 1867 he was senior partner of the law firm of Livermore & Wood. He was nine years president of the School Board.
Notable Facts:
Commandant of the Jackson camp during the Civil War which organized the 20th & 26th Regiments of the MI Infantry. A member of the Masons and the Knights Templar
