Biographical Sketch:
Born in Connecticut, educated in New York, he was admitted to the bar soon after attaining his majority. He located in Detroit in 1839, and to the time of his death in April, 1866, enjoyed not only a lucrative practice but the public confidence in a marked degree. He served a term as president of the Detroit Young Men's Society , and his name is associated with various businesses, public and benevolent enterprises. He was prominently connected with the Westminster (Presbyterian) Church of Detroit.
