He moved to Michigan with his parents, Andrew and Jennett (Southerland?) Black, in 1886, living for a short time in Bay City, then to Maple Ridge, Arenac County. He spent one summer in the west. He held various local offices and served as a member of the board of supervisors of Arenac County for 7 years and 1 term as undersheriff.

Notable Facts:
Manual 1925, p.596, states he was born in 1880. Also known as Andrew Douglas Ross Black. Died of pneumonia.
