President of the Alumni Association of the University, 1892; member of the Elks; the Michigan (Republican) Club; the Chicago Yacht Club and Alpha Delta Phi [literary].

Notable Facts:
5th of 13 children. Applied for membership in the Sons of the American Revolution through his mother's mother's line.
