Biographical Sketch:
He moved west, to Cedar Rapids, IA, in 1857 and practiced law in Linn Co., IA by 1860. In 1861 he was appointed High Sheriff by the Board of Supervisors of Linn Co. and re-elected twice. In 1871, he was elected to the Iowa legislature. He was appointed trustee of the Iowas State Agricultural College by the Iowa legislature and served in that capacity until he moved to Michigan in 1874.
