Biographical Sketch:
Son of Zacharia Turck. He moved to Michigan in 1860 and entered the 26th Michigan Infantry in 1862. He mustered out as a captain, in Company D, in 1865. He served as a member of the board of management of the Michigan Soldiers Home through 1899 and as President of the 26th Michigan Reunion Committee in 1882,He served as Gratiot County Treasurer for 6 years, supervisor for 4 and president and treasurer of Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance Co. for Gratiot and Isabella Counties.
