Son of Charles and Sarah Baldwin. Moved to western NY, 1814. Spent a summer in Michigan in 1825 but moved to Michigan, 1830. He taught school for 6 terms. He was a school inspector, a highway commissioner & justice of the peace for several years and was supervisor for 15 years.
